Kurt Warner set a new NFL record for single-game completion percentage during the Cardinals’ 31-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. He completed 24 of 26 passes for a 92.3% completion percentage that broke the previous mark held by Vinny Testaverde (91.3, 21 of 23) of the Cleveland Browns in a game against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 6, 1993.

The shoes worn by second-year runner, Chris Johnson, out of East Carolina during his historic performance in the Titans’ Week 2 game against the Houston Texans arrived at the museum. In that game Johnson became the first player in the 90-year history of the NFL to record a 90-plus yard rushing touchdown, a 50-plus yard rushing touchdown, and a 60-plus yard receiving touchdown in the same game.

The football from Favre’s first snap in the Minnesota Vikings’ 27-13 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 2 arrived at the museum. As soon as the football was snapped on the game’s first offensive play, a handoff by Favre to running back Adrian Peterson for a five-yard gain, Favre set yet another NFL record. It marked the 271st consecutive start of his career. Although years ago he established the mark for starts by QB, the start in Detroit on Sept. 20 allowed him to surpass the 270 straight starts by former Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall whose ironman streak spanned from 1961 to 1979.

Mark Sanchez of the new York Jets became the first rookie quarterback to start a season and win his first three games in NFL history. These are the shoes worn by Sanchez during Week 3 when the jets toppled the Tennessee Titans at home. Sanchez finished the day with 17 completions for 171 yards and two touchdowns.

Saints QB Drew Brees wore this jersey during Super Bowl XLIV in South Florida. Brees completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and two TDs in the Saints thrilling victory over the Colts.

Cowboys_Stadium_Opener

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo passed this football to RB Marion Barber for a 5-yard gain on September 20, 2009. That play marked the first regular season play in the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Josh Cribbs, wore this jersey during Week 15 when he became the NFL’s all-time leader in career kickoff returns for touchdowns. Cribbs, with his two scores on Dec. 20, now has eight career kickoff returns for touchdowns. His two returns, 100 and 103 yards, also made him just the second player in NFL history to have two kickoff returns of 100 yards or more in the same game. The only other player to achieve that feat was the Miami Dolphins Ted Ginn, Jr. who did so in Week 8 of this season.

Wide receiver/return man Ted Ginn returned two kickoffs for touchdowns (100 and 101 yards) in the third quarter of the Dolphins game played at Giants Stadium on Nov. 1, 2009. In doing so, he became the first NFL player ever to return two kickoffs of 100 or more yards in the same game. His returns also marked just the second time a player returned kickoffs for touchdowns in the same quarter and he was only the eighth player in league history to have a pair of kickoffs for touchdowns in a game. <p>Six plays after Ginn’s first return for a score, Jason Taylor put his name in the record book. The 13th-year defensive end scooped up a fumble at the Jets’ 48-yard-line and raced to the end zone. It marked the sixth fumble recovery for a touchdown in Taylor’s career. That total broke the mark held by Jessie Tuggle.

This ball is from the Oct. 5, 2009 game between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. With the Vikings victory on Monday Night Football Brett Favre became the first QB to defeat all 32 modern-era NFL clubs.

Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre wore this jersey against the Arizona Cardinals on Dec. 6, 2009. He broke the all-time record for consecutive games played in a career set by former Viking Jim Marshall.

Jerome Harrison, a fourth-year player out of Washington State, broke the bank when he shattered a team record that had stood for nearly 50 years. He gained 286 yards on the ground to break the mark held by Hall of Famer Jim Brown who had rushed for 237 yards once in 1957 and again in 1961. Harrison’s rushing total against the Chiefs was the third most in an NFL game behind only Adrian Peterson’s 296 yards in 2007 and Jamal Lewis’s 295 yards in a game in 2003.

This ticket stub, from Nov. 27, 1966, is from the NFL's highest scoring game ever played. On that afternoon the Washington Redskins and New York Giants defeated the New york Giants by a score of 72-41. he 113 total points came via 16 touchdowns – ten scored by Washington and six by the Giants; and a field goal late in the game.

Tennessee Titans Chris Johnson became the sixth player in National Football League history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season. He finished out the 2009 NFL season in record-setting fashion by rushing for 134 yards to bring his season total to 2,006 yards and allowed him to join an elite group of runners who’ve reached the milestone mark. These are the shoes and gloves worn by Johnson on his historic day.

Kolb became the first QB in NFL history to pass for 300 yards in each of his first two career starts. and Jackson became the first player in NFL history with a 60+ yard TD in each of his team's first three games of a season.

The pants, gloves, and jersey worn by Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall when he set the NFL record for receptions in a game arrived at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Marshall set the single-game mark for catches when he hauled in 21 receptions for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 13 to break the single-game mark for catches held since 2000 by Terrell Owens, then of the San Francisco 49ers.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 503 yards and three touchdowns during his team's 37-36 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 15 of the 2009 season. In doing so, he became just the tenth passer in the 90-year history of the National Football League to pass 500 yards in a game. He also joined a pair of Hall of Fame quarterbacks -- Y.A. Tittle and Warren Moon -- as the only players ever to throw for 500 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in the same game.

During Week 4 action New Orleans Saints Safety Darren Sharper became just the second player in history to record double-digit interception returns for scores. Only Hall of Famer Rod Woodson (12) has more interceptions returned for touchdowns. These are the gloves worn by Sharper on that historic day.

The jersey worn by Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward in Week 3 arrived in Canton on Thursday. Ward, the team’s all-time leading receiver, hit the milestone of 10,000 receiving yards during that game against the Bengals in Cincinnati on Sept. 27, 2009. With a catch in the second quarter he became the 21st player in NFL history to have more than 800 catches and 10,000 yards.
